Buffalo Canyon - Level 1
Buffalo Canyon is a short backcountry road in Wasatch County, Utah, in the high country southeast of the Wasatch Front. It climbs along a ridge and drops toward the canyon, with open views and a few spots where you can stop and camp. The area is part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
The route works as a quick side trip or as a way to reach dispersed camping away from the main roads.

Level 1 is an easy route suited to high clearance 2WD vehicles. Stock equipment is enough. Expect dirt or rocky road with obstacles under 5 inches, such as small rocks, dips or ruts, gentle grades and good traction. Roads are usually two vehicles wide. The driver calls the hardest spot on this trail a level one, and the route stays at level 1 throughout.
Highlights
The hilltop camp near the start has room for four to six rigs, and two smaller pullouts just off the road each hold one or two rigs. There is no shade and no trees, and privacy is limited. Power lines run close by.
